Self Validation Resource

Participating in any therapeutic support often requires a lot of curiosity and courage. Self-validation refers to the process of recognizing and affirming one's own feelings, beliefs, and experiences as valid and legitimate and plays a crucial role in building and maintaining healthy self-esteem and self-worth. Instead of denying or suppressing your feelings, self-validation allows you to acknowledge and accept them. When you validate your own experiences and feelings, you are more likely to express yourself honestly and authentically, which can lead to more fulfilling and genuine connections with others.

Parts of this resource could be used as small poster for a bedroom or a business card size, to put in a wallet or carry around in a pencil case. This is not an extensive resource and can not speak for all neurodivergent people. Some of these cards are traditional affirmations from psychological interventions. Others have been developed over time during my OT practice.
